Install the SEL timed reset ground fault detector (GFDTR8) on three-phase cables. Its split
sensing core enables installation without opening the primary. The GFDTR8 derives its power
to trip and reset from an internal lithium cell. Since its reset is based on time delay, the target
will indicate a fault until the end of the eight-hour reset period.
The GFDTR8 trips, indicating a ground fault, when the vector sum of the currents within the
sensing core exceeds the nominal trip rating for longer than 1ms. The red display target
remains in the tripped position until its reset time expires. Its optional auxiliary contact is
open when the GFDTR8’s display is reset, and closes when its display shows a fault. The
contact remains closed until the GFDTR8 resets.
